Richard Alonso Diaz

Originally from Colombia, Richard Alonso Diaz is the current principal tuba player with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. 

In Argentina, he has been the principal tuba player with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Colon and additionally of the Opera Orchestra of the La Plata Theater.

Mr. Alonso has collaborated with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Staatskapelle Berlin, West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. 

His passion for brass studies and performance have led him all over Latin America and Germany to study with Prof. Walter Hilgers, Sebastian Wagemann, Thomas Keller, Fredy Romero, Ruben Rodriguez Ferreira and Pedro Pulzovan.
